The 5th edition of RAD RACE Last Man Standing happened this March, and it definitely lived up to everyone’s expectations! In case you don’t already know, this event is an elimination race that happens every year in Berlin on a go-kart track which is what makes it unique and attracts riders, spectators and sponsors from all over. For many, it is a great way to start the crit season and get some more training in this very technical and fast paced course, before the big events.

The guys at RAD RACE surprised everyone with a new course which meant all the riders had to get adjusted and the experience gained in previous years was not a deciding factor.

Last year’s winner, Addison Zawada of State Bicycle Co. made his way to the finals only to be overtaken by Mattia Zoli from the Supernova Factory Team in the last lap and got second place. Jonas Fischer from the local Canyon Rad Pack joined them on the podium in third place avoiding all the crashes and repping the team honorably. Two of 8bar’s team riders, Stefan Schott and Sebastian Körber also made it to the final alongside David van Eerd (WIT Industries Team) but a crash meant that they were out of the sprint for first place.

Last Woman Standing was just as exciting as the men’s race, with Karla Sommer taking the win for her team Schindelhauer Gates. She was followed closely by Ania Bocchini of the Supernova Factory Team and Silja Ketelsen who made her intense bike messenger experience very obvious throughout the race.

The guys at RAD RACE out did themselves once again! Keep an eye open for FIXED42 happening on the 13th of May!

See you next year?!
